Chris Moultrup, Innovation Center Director

As one of the first employees of Innovation Center, Chris leads member engagement and works with all state programs and partners, including the Business Accelerator FundPre-Seed Seed Capital Fund. He assists new businesses in gaining access to capital, facilitates workshops and competitions, manages business development and customer discovery programs, and routinely facilitates contacts on behalf of MMIC member companies. Chris is also a liaison with the BlueWater Angels investment group, supporting membership and deal flow development.

Chris has started and partnered with companies that provide event and web content management systems. He is president of Elpis Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of special effects pigments and performance additives for the paints and coatings industries.

Chris serves on the board of directors of the Michigan Business Incubator Association and the Midland Academy for Advanced and Creative Studies. He also serves on the Entrepreneurship Curriculum Advisory Committee for Northwood University. Chris completed the Incubator Management Certificate Program through the National Business Incubation Association in 2012. Chris received his BBA in Entrepreneurship Management from Northwood University in 2007.

Sandra Darland, Communications Director


Sandra manages marketing events and office operations and provides organizational efficiency. Before joining MMIC, Sandra worked with the Saginaw Public Schools for more than 30 years, where she managed large fundraising events, multi-media marketing, publications, web design, and board and community relations. Sandra serves on the boards of the Saginaw Promise Zone and the Saginaw Public Schools Foundation. She received her B.A. in Art and Design and her M.A. in Communications and Multimedia, from Saginaw Valley State University. Sandra completed the Incubator Management Certificate Program through the National Business Incubation Association in 2014 as well as the Non-profit Best Practices in Management Certificate at Saginaw Valley State University in 2014.

Terry Frost, Administrative Assistant


Terry assists MMIC staff and members with a wide variety of tasks including organizational administration, office management, and visitor reception. Before joining MMIC, Terry dedicated 10 years to the students of Northwood University as a receptionist in the academic department. While earning her teacher assistant certificate in 2012, Terry worked with Midland Public Schools.
